Darlene Hutton
With over 30 years in critical care nursing, research, management, and education, Darlene Hutton has been instrumental in advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes. Beginning her career as a bedside nurse in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), she later held leadership roles such as Research Manager for clinical trials.
As a certified resuscitation instructor, Darlene leads comprehensive competency training for healthcare professionals at all levels. She specializes in providing tailored education for healthcare professionals, catering to a diverse audience, from novice to experienced RNs, RPNs, NPs, nursing students, physicians, and both Primary Care and Advanced Care Paramedics. Her focus on cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation equips professionals with essential skills for patient care.
Driven by a commitment to accessible education, Darlene has focused on delivering high-quality, affordable training to underserved regions across Canada.

Diana Curphey
Diana Curphey has been an integral part of the QRS team since 2008, offering leadership and administrative expertise. She is dedicated to assisting clients with registration and inquiries.
Scott Chubbs
Scott served 20 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, with nursing experience in Med Surg, ER, and pediatrics at CHEO. He deployed to Kabul and Kandahar with the US 10th Mountain Division. Scott completed medical school at the University of Ottawa (2011) and Family Medicine training at the University of Toronto (2014). He is a PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP instructor and Medical Director.
Michelle Cleland
Michelle Cleland is a seasoned nurse educator and clinician from Toronto, specializing in critical care education. With experience in various ICUs at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and University Health Network, she has also served as a critical care educator at Scarborough Hospital. She began her teaching career by developing George Brown College’s coronary nursing program and is passionate about using simulation in education. Certified as a healthcare simulation educator (CHSE), Michelle has held national certifications in critical care, cardiovascular, and neuroscience nursing. She has also served as an education chair and editor for the CACCN and is an ACLS Instructor Trainer with over 30 years of experience teaching ACLS using simulation.
Bill McCreadie
Bill's background includes Pediatric Cardiovascular Perfusion and Experimental Surgery. He has extensive teaching experience across healthcare, including pre-hospital and nursing, leveraging his skills in project management, adult education, and leadership.
Bud Eyre
Bud has been with QRS since 2010, with experience in paramedic and nursing in psychiatry, med-surg, emergency, and ICU. He has dedicated over 37 years to St. John Ambulance, earning recognition for his extensive community service.
Suzanne Vanderlip
Suzanne is a passionate critical care nurse with extensive experience in trauma, cardiovascular, and surgical ICUs. She previously served as a Professional Practice Leader and a certified Crisis Prevention trainer. Throughout her career, Suzanne has been known for her dedication to critical care and her leadership in advancing nursing practices.
Casey Liut
Casey Liut, RN, BScN, brings over 18 years of experience to the field of nursing with a focus on emergency and critical care. As a seasoned BLS instructor and ACLS instructor, Casey is committed to enhancing the clinical skills of healthcare professionals through comprehensive and practical training. For eight years, Casey also served as an ED/ICU Nurse Educator, providing mentorship and education to nurses in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Casey’s passion for patient care and professional development continues to inspire those she teaches, ensuring they are prepared to manage complex and emergent situations with confidence.
Danny Quann
Danny, RN (EC), MN, CEN, is an emergency/critical care nurse with over 16 years of experience. He has worked as a staff RN, clinical educator, and manager, with a passion for resuscitation and teaching.
Andrea Mitchell
With over 23 years of critical care experience, Andrea specializes in emergency, cardiac catheterization lab, and ICU care. She also serves as a Critical Care Clinical Instructor at George Brown College.
Michael Roffey
Michael, a paramedic since 1999, is the Coordinator of Paramedic Practice at Sunnybrook Centre for Prehospital Medicine. He has a background in program design, education, and paramedic training.
Martin Johnston
Martin has been an advanced care paramedic since 2002 and is currently a Clinical Specialist Superintendent for Toronto Paramedic Services. He has taught paramedics, nurses, doctors, and military personnel, specializing in trauma and ACLS.
Juanita MacIassic
Juanita, RN, BScN, MN, has over 30 years of nursing experience across various fields. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring, having taught at a community college and working as a nurse educator in critical care, cardiology, and the burn unit.
Scott Fountain
Scott Fountain is a former Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) with ORNGE, Ontario's air ambulance service, bringing years of critical care experience to his current role as a nursing student. In addition, he is a certified instructor for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), combining his hands-on expertise and passion for healthcare education to support the next generation of medical professionals.
Steve Darling
Steve has over 35 years of experience in EMS, recently retiring from Ornge Transport Medicine. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge, ensuring that learners stay up-to-date with patient care advances.
Ehsan Adiban
Ehsan has over 26 years of experience as a nurse, specializing in critical care, emergency, and cardiology. He has taught numerous courses, including ALS, BLS, and Disaster Management, in both the Middle East and North America.
Kat Dowker
Kat, BScN, MScN, has over 13 years of experience in emergency and cardiovascular critical care. She currently serves as a clinical educator at Kingston General Hospital and is passionate about trauma, resuscitation, and burnout prevention.
